Understanding the world through the eye of the camera
Cinema has told us stories that by now are part of our imaginary. Film education means giving the necessary tools to understand the narrative dynamics the media use today.
Thanks to the cinematography lab the students will be able to understand the mechanisms and the syntax of the language of cinematography. The lessons are organized with a methodology of participation where the students are an active part in creating content.
The experts working at the Cineteca of Bologna ( a place for archival conservation and restoration, for the promotion and dissemination of cinema and audiovisual) will help the children through the different phases of making a film, from its conception to the editing phase. Just like on a real set everybody has a role and together they will create a film crew : from the camera operator to the cinematographer, from the script supervisor to the sound engineer.
Phases of the project
- Learning to watch: recognizing and understanding the storyline, the script, the storyboard and the crew.
- Editing : with the help of a professional software, digital video cameras and a microphone, children will be able to create their own film. The editing phase is also the opportunity to think about language and its different functions.
