Among the first important choices in a parent’s life is certainly that of which primary school to enroll their children in. The difficulty is undoubtedly represented by having to match a whole series of factors that depend from family to family, such as the convenience of proximity to home or work, or more and more often, on the quality of the school’s offerings or the presence or less extracurricular activities. For these many reasons it is important to start carefully evaluating all the available options in advance, in order to then make the best choice for the well-being and educational future of our children.
When deciding between a private and a public primary school, we often tend to lean towards the former, due to a whole series of advantages offered including, the not insignificant one, a more protected environment and with smaller classes.
Private elementary schools really offer many advantages
Just to mention some of the typical advantages of private primary schools:
- Small-student classes: Which allow teachers to give more attention to each student and tailor instruction to their individual needs.
- Rigorous educational environment: Unlike public schools, private schools often have higher standards of education, with a greater focus on academic excellence and behavioral discipline.
- Specialized programs: Private schools offer specialized academic programs not available in public schools, as in the case of Kinder – the first international school in Bologna with an approach to the arts, through participation in classical music concerts, performances of operas, visits to museums etc. Furthermore, in the case of Kinder, the school program is enriched by subjects such as the Chinese language in addition to the English language included in the program, computer lab and chess, aimed at broadening knowledge on current issues and developing the children’s reasoning ability.
- Curriculum flexibility: Private elementary schools also have greater flexibility in creating the ad hoc curriculum and implementing innovative educational methodologies.
